I have 2015 '09, bought new in October that year, and I love it. Had I be in the market now for one, a '17 model will have been on the cards I guess (hating the insectile lights though). I'd still have upgraded the suspension regardless, and would love the quick shifter.
I had my stock suspension set uo to my weight at Steve Jordans before I chaged the fork internals and shock to decent kit that works. Great service, friendly, knowledgeable and free hot drinks. I didn't pay anything though, but either way, you'll know how to tweak it yourself now before upgrading.
If you want a very loud pipe which is short and GP-like, SP Engineering's Moto GP Extreme full system is awesome. Excellent build quality and fooking loud. Baffle out and it's insanely loud.
You'll have a blast. I took mine to Catalyna GP circuit in October and although not ideal, is still competent into and exiting the corners. It's no sports bike, but you'll find yourself in and amongst the 600's and 750's in the bends, but powering out you'll be left behind by every sports bike...
Glad you enjoyed your trip. You must have taken some good breaks as you covered an average of 40 miles each hour. Stock seat is firm, huh! I did 16 junctions on the M4 recently, and that was bad enough! Nice plate on that MT. Orange really is the best colour
