    6th gear indicator flashing

    Hi

Wondered if anyone had seen the dash flashing when on the motorway in 6th gear. Happened yesterday and it was only is only happening on the 6th gear indicator on the dash, during a 15 min run.
Didn't notice any adverse affects and up and down the gears was fine, on the return run I didn't notice it again.

    Any thoughts??

My bike is almost 30k KM's in and the Gear Position Indicator is failing.
It is OK when the bike is cold(ish), but when up to temperature position 5 and sometimes 4 are missing.
Will be getting replaced at the next service.

    Just to update.
Yamaha rectified the problem on my bike. They changed the "Neutral Switch", which I guess is also the gear position indicator.
    Works OK now.
It was Singapore Dollars $55 = about 30 pounds.

The gear position indicator is easy to remove and can be cleaned.
It's usually not necessary to change it.
