    R&G Heated Grips

Treated myself (along with Ram Mount ball) at the Bike Show to some R&G Heated Grips The garage is freezing today, but thought I would at least offer it to the bike. All seems well, but how the hell do I slacken those bar ends. ?? I remember them being tight on other bikes but not this bad It...

    Instrument Display Led Failure

Several elements of my instrument display failed after the bike hadnt been used for a couple of weeks and was therefore quite cold. First time I saw it, they all returned after 5 or 6 miles. Pictured at the dealers when I arrived, I suspect some leds were re-appearing. Its not very obvious here...

    Late First Service

First "free" service is meant to be taken at 600 miles or 6 weeks. Well that six weeks was up in October, and it hasnt stopped raining for more than a day since, for me to get past the current 450 mile mark I dont do wet or cold weather riding out of choice. (but on writing that I am recalling...

    Brakes pop ?

Did I hear my brake calliper pistons just go pop ? I dont mean go bang, just a muffled pop, like you might hear if you put a cup upside down on the table. Bike is only 8 weeks old, and has sat in the garage for 2 weeks whilst it was damp and too cold to ride. Sunny day yesterday, got to end of...

    Hi from Manchester.

Had my std MT09 a few weeks now. I'm certainly not keeping to 4k revs, 6k maybe, and a little more at times. Interested to hear your thoughts on the MT09 coming from Street Triple, as I was so close to buying one,

    First Impressions

That is sort of what I was thinking. Since I chose non-ABS, and very soon only ABS will be available, could it be "old stock" as yours ? When it goes in for its first service at 600ml, should the dealer be able to check the software version ? Will probably leave it stock for the moment as I am...

    First Impressions

Collected my MT09 on Wednesday, and went out for my first proper ride today Thought I'd give my impressions after 110 mile ride through the Yorkshire Dales Impressed with: 50+ mpg, but I was 'running in' (of sorts) and didnt put it into A mode Easier on my wrists after coming from a CBR600RR...

    track day insurance in Europe

Its some years since I did a track day on my bike, and that was in the UK, but I dont believe many then had specialist insurance for their bike on track, or specialist insurance for themselves. When I've done car track days in Europe, my car insurance can be uplifted to cover it on track (with...

    Deal Done

Think I'll go for a Yamaha screen, and possibly something to cover the rad sides and filler cap Ive never seen a filler cap on a bike before, its always been behind a fairing

    Deal Done

Deposit placed on a new MT09 in blue.:) For me the blue is the best of a bad bunch of colours. The wide & narrow stripes on the tank didnt do anything for me. Arrives in a week or so. All I need now are some fine days for a good ride out into the Yorkshire Dales. That reminds me, running in...

Thinking of coming over to the Dark Side

3000 miles even in 9 days is a bit of an endurance test to me, or it was on a CBR600RR, One of my points to all who ask me about touring in Europe is dont spoil it by overestimating how many miles you should do Where are you going, I can recommend quite a few hotels. Heading there myself in...

Thinking of coming over to the Dark Side

3000 miles in a week  I would be very impressed if you can do that sort of mileage But really, the trip doesnt need to be an endurance test does it ? Enjoy especially if you can get into the Alps
