It would appear the 203 is welded in, the 142 has a welded in captive nut and a bolt so the baffle is removable.
Found this on another site -
On the face of it, the Akrapovič db-killers V-TUV142 and V-TUV203 appear to be the same. But there are some differences between the VTUV142 and the...
A sponge and hot soapy water, never a jet wash.
Let it air dry in warm weather and then dry rags to polish off.
If it's colder I dry it with a pet dryer ( 2800w of heat and air ) about £50 on Ebay.
Never put it away wet.
About an hour tops.
That said I normally clean after every ride so don't...
I totally agree, frustrating as it may be, stay at home until this is over and then we can enjoy our cluttered potholed roads once again.
Tempting as it may be to go out for a blast, if you have a mishap and take up a hospital bed you're just adding to the burden on the NHS.
I have/had another...

Welcome to the forum 👋.
Unfortunately I can't comment on the Tracer as I have not owned one, I have the MT09.
Triumph Tiger 1200 an option for you ?
Quite a bit dearer though o_O
Welcome to the forum Derek
Same colour as mine, sadly on lockdown here so not used it for a while.
A friend of mine went to BC last year, said how stunning the scenery was, looks like great biking territory.
A friend of mine who is not on here had a sticky starter switch on his 2017 mt09 and inadvertently burnt out his starter solenoid.
He bought a genuine Yamaha one on Ebay and it fixed the problem, out of interest he also bought a pattern part also from eBay for £18.
He swapped them over to check...
Not sure how that will affect you if you need to do your road tax for your bike online, It automatically checks that you have a current MOT and valid insurance.
I've not seen anything explaining that situation.
If you are currently happy with the way it is but you are adding considerable extra weight, you may want to add some extra preload front and rear to prevent a complete bottom out of the suspension
I have a baby monitor plugged in, in my garage and the receiving half of it in a socket next to my bed, hopefully if someone got inside I would hear them rooting around.
Also the garage is connected to the house burglar alarm system
On my 2014 MT09 I fitted Road 5s.
It previously had Bridgestone S21evo front and rear.
I did a 1200mile European trip on the Road 5s, I honestly can't say the bike really felt any different to before, but what was noticable was the lack of tyre wear after the trip, they still looked like a new...
Just sponge on hot soapy water after every ride, regardless of weather.
Never put bike away wet, dry off headers and spray on something like wd40.
I personally would not use anything abrasive or caustic on chrome if you want to keep it.
To throw you a curve ball, I bought the street rally flat seat for mine and found it far more comfortable than the stock one.
It also perches you about an inch higher.
Done a 1600 mile trip of Europe on it this year over 5 days with no comfort issues.
Only about £115 too.
I fitted a new K-Tech Razor rear shock to my 2014 MT09 only 4 weeks ago.
Massive improvement.
FTR suspension fitted the correct spring for my weight so the preload was in the ball park area already.
On that shock there is an adjustable collar below the spring with about 5mm of thread either way...
