New comfort seat - Shad or Yamaha ? My findings from having both.

The Yamaha comfort seat eliminates the forward slope and adds critical padding for rider and pillion. It's a must-have in that sense. On the downside it's surprisingly firm, even after a full season of break-in. It's also noticeably taller, which is either good or bad depending on one's...

    riding two up.

I use these 40mm extenders from Amazon. They make a small but crucial difference in my wife's knee angle. Neither of us has any health issues but at 53 we're not as flexible as we used to be. Edit: Upgrading to the Yamaha comfort seat also helps with knee angle, due to its added...

    riding two up.

"without clothes"? That certainly gives new meaning to the term 'adventure riding' :) Our MT has no problem carrying that amount of weight. It actually rides better - on stock suspension - than my 700-pound V Star 1300 did.

    riding two up.

My 2018 MT09 does a passable job of transporting my wife and I plus overnight bags. No suspension issues despite a combined payload of over 350 pounds. Just had to spend a few bucks on a comfort seat, pillion footpeg extenders, windshield, luggage rack, etc. Biggest complaint is the snug...

    First naked bike...its cold!

Handguards, heated grips, small windshield and a good jacket make a huge difference. Better in fact than my V Star Deluxe with the batwing fairing and talk windshield.

Help power commandor and auto tunner

I had a Kuryakyn fuel processor on my V Star 1300, mostly as anti-lean insurance when I opened up my airbox and exhaust. While it might have contributed to a slight bump in midrange power, all I know for sure is that the bike burned 10-15% more fuel with the device. And the spark plugs...

Vulcans... Magnas... so I'm not the only one. Everyone knows the MT as a wheelie machine, but to me the upright ergonomics make it the ideal "old guy bike". And being able to pivot it on the kickstand in my garage - so I never have to paddle it backwards - is an unexpected bonus.

    I thinks it's officially dead...

On behalf of all the new members who couldn't get past the bot checker.... thank you! The others will be along any minute now.

How did you find the site.

Google search. Struck me as one of the more active MT-09 forums, despite a grouchy bot-checker that was blocking access. Thankfully that is now fixed.

    Greetings from Ottawa Canada

So my 2018 MT-09 was delivered by trailer a few weeks ago, and is now parked for what will surely be the longest winter of my life. Started riding in the early 1980s, and have always been on one Yamaha or another. DT100, SR250, XJ1100, XVS1100, XVS1300 and now the MT. (Bonus points if...
