UK based - modifications to handle bar height and possibly rear sets

Risers arrived pretty quickly. Look well engineered. I won't be fitting them now. Fell for another triumph model at the dealers and have part ex'd the tracer. Will sell the risers on someone might need them.

UK based - modifications to handle bar height and possibly rear sets

I've got some offset extended bar risers on order from Motopumps in America. Delivery due mid to late June. They only raise the bars 25mm with 20mm pull back. I'm hoping its enough to make a difference. Will post thoughts once received and fitted. I'm okay with footpeg position on mine so can't...

    Information Which zx10 shock

Going from memory here which isn't always wise. Think I've seen a kawasaki zx6r shock advertised as fitting an MT09. I don't know how that differs from a zx10r.

    Tyres

I had planned to fit Michelin PR5s to mine. It had Dunlop Sportsmax's fitted when I viewed the bike at a dealers. ( used bike with 4K on the clock ). It had a half squared off rear on it. When I collected the bike they had fitted a rear Dunlop to it as they had found a nail in the tyre. So I...

New comfort seat - Shad or Yamaha ? My findings from having both.

I've just bought a Tourtecs " whoopee cushion " for mine. Can't comment on its performance yet. It arrived, from Motea Germany, without securing straps. They're on back order until next month. When they arrive I will post up how I get on with it.

    Switched accessory supply

No worries Tyke. Another benefit of not having a switched supply to the nav is being able to programme it with routes etc, is that it can be done in the garage without having the ignition switched on for long periods.

    Switched accessory supply

I've always fitted my sat nav directly to the battery. Never had an issue of any battery drain while the bikes laid up.

My yamaha mt09 doesn't change modes when i press the drive mode button

Try swapping the fuse anyway. I've had a blown one in the past that couldn't easily be seen.

    Stability with top box

Thanks for the reply F. Makes perfect sense and confirms my first thoughts on the subject. I haven't sourced a rack or box yet. Will get organised before next years touring season. ( assuming there is one ).

    Stability with top box

Nice upgrade Littlebruv. The suspension tuner i mentioned gave me a quote for a ride in/out service to fit ktech cartridges and shock for just over £1500. I might pull the trigger next year.

    Stability with top box

yes, thanks for that Littlebruv. My thinking is the same as yours. I have experimented with tyre pressures and suspension settings. Even went to a professional suspension tuner in an attempt to dial out the vague front at speed. Helped a bit but only real cure is a serious suspension upgrade...

    Stability with top box

Any views on stability compromise with a top box fitted. I do like a top box to stash my helmet when off the bike. Slight concern I have is that I find the front end very light when " making progress ". Will fitting a box make it worse ?

    Luggage

Just fitted some Cbow carriers to mine with Hepco & Becker soft side cases. Its quality gear. Had planned to remove the carriers when not needed but have left them in situ. Figured they look okay. Was torn between buying those or the Yamaha soft luggage. Happy with my choice. Mines the last of...
