Thanks for your reply.
I got sorted in the end. I removed the backing plates and then the wheel rotated as normal.
I also contacted EBC to get their opinion and they told me if the original pads on your bike don't have backing plates then just remove the plates before you put the new EBC...
Hello.
I have a MT09 SP 2018 with just under 8,000 km on it.
Yesterday I changed the rear and front break pads from stock to EBC Double-H Sintered pads. No problem with the rear wheel after the pads were changed.
I do have a problem with the front after the pads changed. The wheel is...
Thanks for your feedback stevecbr. I will keep an eye on my dash and will report back to this forum if the issue returns. Prior to my dash freezing that day I did get caught in a rain shower. Sound one 👍
Hi
I am just wondering did you have any further problems with your dash freezing? Same thing happened my 2018 MT09SP today. Speed display stuck at 120km. Gear display stuck at 6th. Petrol meter stuck. And mileage stuck.
Earlier in the journey I noticed when using the quickshifter the...

Thank you the reply and the clarification, Otters Pocket.
I was always thought the MT09 was not a HWM as its 193 kg in weight out of the factory, plus rider and gear (my case that...
Hi everyone.
Just wondering if someone can clear up a stupid question I have about tyres in general.
E.g. Metzeler has two versions of the roadtec 01 for the MT09.
One is the standard set
120/70/ZR17 58W.
180/55/ZR17 73W.
and one version is HWM set
120/70/ZR17 58W HWM.
180/55/ZR17 73W HWM...
Ohhh no, not again.
No harm double checking the connections to the battery and make sure they are tight. A mechanic told me if there is any loose connections, a jump in voltage can occur during the starting process resulting in frying the solenoid.
Hopefully you will get it sorted.
Hi .
Just wondering if anyone has some information they could share with me regarding P2195 error.
FAULT
P2195 O2 sensor signal. Bank 1 Sensor 1.
Today I took off the factory exhaust of my MT09SP 2018 and replaced it with a Akra carbon full system.
Only 2200 km on the bike. Took the...
Sorry about the late reply @foureyes.
I am 99.9% sure now that the problem originated from the started switch.
I check the switch and it was not going back fully to the neutral position so chances are this was the reason the solenoid got fried.
I took the started switch apart and cleaned it...
Hi Kev.

Hi Kev,
Hope you get your solenoid and get you back on the road.

Yamaha used the exact...
@foureyes , hi and thank you for your update.
For sure I will take the starter switch apart this weekend and double check if there is anything obstructing the switch mechanism.
Honestly I have never really kept an eye on the position of the starter switch once I select RUN but in future...
Hi.
After I was told there was only one place in Ireland where I could get the engine light turned off i.e. the main Yamaha dealer I did some digging around.
A company in the UK has the tools to remove an engine light for the 2018 model. I emailed them and they replied back confirming they...
