Good stuff mate glad you are enjoying your upgrades!
I fitted Ktech IDS20 and a Ktech Razor R rear shock to mine. I used 9.8 (comp) and 15.9 (rebound) viscosity oil in my fork legs and found them too harsh. Rear shock was nice but not as plush as I would have liked. Defo a track setup.
I've...
Hi,
I am selling my Ktech IDS20 fork internals from my Yamaha MT09, they are in fantastic condition and barely used.
They suit the MT09, xsr900 and I believe the tracer 900. But please check the Ktech website for compatability with your model bike. Check my photos for part numbers if...
As title really. Would my set of Ktech ids20/Ktech 8.5N springs be of interest to anyone?
I'm tempted to take some value out of the bike and refit my oem cartridges and springs, I don't plan on using the bike on track so the forks are overkill for my riding. Got a bit excited over summer and...
The American fz09 forum is much busier unfortunately.
I do check this forum every few days, but it's rather rare to see anything new/of interest being posted much of the time
I've had a US20 tail pack for years. Bought it in 2010, admittedly not been used much for the 3 last year's or so. But they are superb quality.
No idea how well it would fit a tracer though
Hi,
I am after some SW Motech/Yamaha panniers and support arms for an MT09 (2016).
I would consider others, as long as they don't require modifying the rear fairing panels.
I can collect from the Bristol/Somerset/South Wales area or we can sort postage.
Thanks all
Mike
Another way of looking at it is:
Ktech Razor R shock £594
Ktech Ids20 plus springs £680
Assorted tooling I didn't have for fork installation £100
I would think that getting £550 for the fork cartridges, springs and top cap tool should be very easy.
The shock I would hope for near £500 on...
The forks currently are a massive improvement over stock, that goes without saying, this is just me trying to soften it up slightly.
As for the left leg, you need more than just the top cap. It's a dummy leg, it doesn't have valving etc.
If you do the second RH mod, you'd need to reshim both...
I have dropped my oil level to 160mm to help smooth out the harsh bumps, it has helped somewhat.
Total stanchion showing at full extension: 141mm
Assuming the same fork travel as OEM: 137mm
76kg fully kitted up.
My static sag figures are 41mm, so pretty much spot on, but I'm not using all of...
Ktech IDS20 cartridges are in with 8.5N springs.
9.8cst@40C Belray 2.5w in comp leg
15.9cst@40C Maxima 85/150 5w in reb leg
Pattonme on the Fz09 forum recommends the above oil viscosities for road use.
To make a stock cartridge holding tool you need 28mm OD tube, wall thickness was 1mm I...
Meant to be very good from all the reading I have done on shocks. If I was after a shock that didn't have independent rebound/compression adjustment it would be what I would go for.
Little update again!
I decided to go with the Ktech IDS20 fork cartridges and Ktech springs.
Ordered the cartridges from Omniaracing in Italy, Ktech won't sell them to you directly annoyingly, but I want to install them myself instead of paying £180 to JHS! I think I can do it fairly easily...
