For circuit use it's interesting to turn off the immobilizer because you also remove all the system to save weight. On the 09 it's possible to do because it's not implemented in all the countries, it depends on the insurrance local law.

The gear position indicator is easy to remove and can be cleaned. It's usually not necessary to change it.

I've put the genuine yamaha model from my 2013 model on my 2017 model. It's plug and play, the screws are in the same position and there is no problem with the rear lights. For information it also fits MT10.
