    Blank key (YISS)

Hi all, recently I lost a key and after many days of searching admitted defeat and ordered a replacement from my local dealer. Guess what? The lost key was found (like, two days after I re-ordered! Grrrr!)and my dealer declined to cancel the order as it was a "special" (Grrrr! again). So - I...

    Tail pack for Tracer

Kriega is very well made stuff but you're right - it's pricey. And overengineered unless you're going RTW which let's face it most of us ain't. And consider this - most stuff is adequately waterproof and can be made completely so with the use of a handy, cheap "rubble bag" liner, available in...

    MT09 Tracer Soft Luggage

Hi Johnstons101 I don't have anything for sale but I would suggest you also consider the Bagster Cruise Panniers. Well rated by RIDE recently, I have a set myself and they do the job really well. You might find a used set popping up on eBay now that Autumn is approaching...

    Phone as GPS

My Chuffin TomTom (oops) has various random "alternative routes" for the same journey. Just one of the reasons it completely baffles me...

    Phone as GPS

Big comparison in this month's Ride mag, numerous Phone apps, free and paid, all rated. Probably this will provide the answer to all your questions. One thing I will say - it's probably worth the hassle of coupling your phone (in a waterproof case) to a mount on the bike etc etc with a decent...

    Gel seat pad - recommendations

Cheers all. Judging by what I've found elsewhere on the 'net it seems that in this case "you buy cheap, you buy twice" applies, as in some £50 gel seat cover isn't going to do much good. I guess I'll save me pennies up and go for a Sargent. At such point as I change the bike I can at least sell...

    Gel seat pad - recommendations

Ok so after a couple of hefty trip on the Tracer I am giving serious consideration to getting a gel (or similar) seat pad. There are a couple of points on my anatomy that get really sore on a long ride and spreading my 13st around a bit more evenly might be a good idea... anyone tried anything...

    Yamaha Niken

Bike magazine has just road tested the Niken, with a generally positive (if slightly bemused) take on the whole thing. As it's built around an MT09 powerplant I thought I'd ask here what anyone else thought of the concept. (my take being, I'm sure it's technically very clever but a) WTF? b) Why...

    Water pump disaster

Nice one. Always satisfying when you can repair (or get repaired) a component rather than fork over large amounts of hard-earned for a new one. And almost as pleasing when you hear of a fellow rider doing the same. Good work fella, and enjoy the TT.

    Condensation 2017 Tracer 900

I have a similar problem. Not to the same extent perhaps as mine lives in a garage that isn't totally watertight so doesn't live under a cover (don't want to trap moisture). But yes, the back of the glass gets a bit foggy at times. It clears after a bit though.

    Standard exhaust mod... 2nd edition

No, I knew it wasn't a straightforward job, though certainly hadn't anticipated it would try the patience of a guy who builds stainless exhaust systems for a living! Fair play to you for doing the "cut down" yourself...

    Standard exhaust mod... 2nd edition

Well, no response from Mr ToastedBlue... so, I've been to my local stainless exhaust fabricator gadgey, shown him the youtube video from here and handed him an exhaust. When he gave it me back a few days ago, he said "small wonder that bloke hasn't got back to you. That was a B*st*rd of a job, I...

Chinese (Scotts) Knock Off Steering Damper

Can't comment on this, but worth noting that a great deal of "knock-off" Chinese stuff is actually the genuine article without several middlemen, glossy packaging (with spelling and grammar checked!) and a big price hike. Not always, but often...

    Advice please

.....aaand on FURTHER inspection, yes the plug originally suggested IS correct for what I take to be the aux power connections. Both plugs arrved this morning - I've gone for the 2nd "lighter" socket option, and now I know what's where I may yet hard-wire my Roadhawk camera (bought after I got...
