Yesterday I was out riding and a plastic bag blew in front of me and attached to the bike, by the time I got stopped the black plastic was melted onto one of the headers.
Any ideas on how to get it off?
Akro carbon full system.
I didn't see a gear forum so here goes.
I have been a loyal Dainese wearer since 1979 and I am in the market for some new gear.
I'd like opinions on the cold/rain proof capabilities of the following if anyone has them:
Laguna Seca 3 D-Dry jacket
Racing 3 D-dry jacket
Tempest 2 D-dry pants
Hmmm, 52 is getting on a bit?
I'm 59 and I know I am far from the eldest here, they say you're only as old as the woman you feel but my wife just turned 60 so that's a bit redundant!
Welcome to the forum and have fun with the second best bike on the road (after the Tracer)
I have a Tracer and removed the centre stand to fit the Akrapovic pipe that I have installed.
I have bobbins on the swingarm and use a paddock stand to lube the chain, it is a one man operation to get it up and down again.
I hook the stand under the left bobbin, then push down gently on the...
I bought it on Amazon UK, I didn't buy the electrical kit with it so all I needed extra was a relay, a fuse holder, some wire and lugs. I had a 20 GBP voucher so this helped to get the price down, I paid 31 GBP delivered to me here. This was in February 2018.
I mounted on the stock horn mount...
I ride two up and with a top box all the time, I can't say I have felt any issues that could be attributed to the box.
I have 2 boxes, a Givi V36 and a Givi E52N (takes 2 fullface helmets) and neither affect the ride, even in windy conditions.
😊
When I posted this I hadn't weighed the gear so the 175kg is combined body weight, when I add the helmets, jackets, boots and a full top box we are around 200kg.
Mine has no trouble carrying that weight either. I think we were around 20kg down on this total when I had my 600 Fazer and it...
That Givi topbox plate is for a Monolock box which if you check their website is for smaller bikes and scooters.
Bigger bikes are recommended to be fitted with Monokey boxes.
A Monokey box will fit on a Monolock plate but not vice versa.
Here's a question for you suspension experts...
This is my wife and myself taken 2 weeks ago. Total rider and passenger mass 175kg without gear (or clothes)!
Does it look like we are overloading the bike? I don't ride like a maniac but it handles fine.
Since I wrote my post back in April things are far more relaxed, you can travel about the country at will although there is still a 10pm-4am curfew. Spring is almost here so the timing couldn't be better for being able to ride again!
I weigh 105kg my wife is 65kg, 95% of the riding time is two up.
If we go on a trip we have a big Givi topbox with weekend kit, my Tracer has stock suspension with out of the box settings and it rides just fine.
Are you referring to the shock or the single sided swingarm? I would think that unless you find a wreck at a bargain price this is an expensive mod!
That is one of a very short list of things I would love on my Tracer, a single sided swingarm. The other is shaft drive.
They look the same on the Ron Ayers parts site apart from the tail pipe.
I have a Tracer with an Akrapovic system made for a naked MT-09, my instincts tell me that the exhausts on the XSR 900, MT-09 and Tracer are interchangeable.
EDIT: It seems I was wrong, I was browsing the Revzilla site...
I use Bel-Ray chain lube, it sticks like crazy which means you need to be careful where you spray it because cleaning it off is a bitch.
I made a cardboard protector that goes between the chain and the wheel to keep it clean while I spray.
Our lockdown is quite strict, no leaving your home except to shop for groceries or to seek medical attention. No exercise or walking dogs. No sales of alcohol or cigarettes. if you are stopped on the road without a valid reason you can be arrested on the spot and put in the van, so my bike is...
I fitted the Denali split sound bomb compressor under the tank and the horn unit on the stock horn mount, had to drill the hole a bit but it fits nicely and there are no issues with mudguard contact.
I had the Tracer centre stand removed by the dealer before delivery so that I could fit the Akrapovic pipe I had bought.
The Tracer is significantly higher than my Fazer but I mount them the same way, from the left on the sidestand and swing a leg over.
My wife had a bit more difficulty...
