Was out the other day and slowing into a 30 zone my speedo froze at 55mph and gear selected was still 6 even when I stopped this rectified once switched of and on again. Just had it dyno tunes about a week before. Anyone else experienced this? Cheers

Not had that problem, but I did once have a situation where the bike started up fine but then wouldn't respond to the throttle - it just stayed on tickover. Like you, switching off and on again sorted it. In that case I'd washed the bike the day before (though not with a pressure washer), so I put it down to water getting in somewhere it shouldn't. A good excuse to avoid washing the bike, though!

Hi
I am just wondering did you have any further problems with your dash freezing? Same thing happened my 2018 MT09SP today. Speed display stuck at 120km. Gear display stuck at 6th. Petrol meter stuck. And mileage stuck.

Earlier in the journey I noticed when using the quickshifter the selected gear was been omitted from the dash until I shifted down a gear.

Turned the bike off and back on and the dash unfroze.

Hopefully that will be the end of the problem. Be just interesting to know if this is a common issue or its just a once off problem.

Cheers

A broken dash is a common issue on the MT09. Mine started with the screen flickering, then went dead. The LCD is still backlit, and the idiot lights still work. I contacted a few UK companies who specialise in dash repair, they were all aware of the issue and stated its irrepairable, the LCD screen has failed. For my 2013 MT09 (non-abs) they are £502 new, luckily I managed to get a used one of Ebay (it did take 5 months for one to appear). On the MT owners facebook page there has been 4 or 5 others who have experienced this just this year. I started a thread on this forum back in November when my dash failed

Thanks for your feedback stevecbr. I will keep an eye on my dash and will report back to this forum if the issue returns. Prior to my dash freezing that day I did get caught in a rain shower. Sound one 👍
