What is the best substance to protect my paintwork with? I believe that wax polish isn't to be used, any ideas guys please

Wax and polish are 2 different things.

Polish shines the bodywork, and takes out scratches and micromarring.

Wax protect the bodywork and has no abrasives.

I use wax all the time on my bike and it doesn’t harm it.

Unless you have matt bodywork? Then look out for wax/sealant designed for that type...

That’s the kind of thing you need, I haven’t used it personally, but being from AutoGlym I would expect it to be good enough.

Yeah it's not bad at all - I use it on the car as well and the water just beads off for ages.

Doesn't last over 6 months like the description might lead you to believe, but it should last a good few months before needing a good top up. I just apply whenever I give the bike a really good clean.
