just picked up next years brochure for the MT range, and apart from the looks of the tracer, main differences are:

1 the tracer has switchable traction control
2 its got an 18 litre tank
3 totally different clocks, the brochure describes it as a multifunction dot matrix instrument panel
4 LED twin headlights
5 its got a centrestand

I wonder how long before the MT comes with traction control and LED lights? The 2016 model maybe?

I thought same, the MT will have traction control at some point to, do love the big screens on tracer and its great bike for doing miles on, for me though the MT will be better choice mainly around town on short dual carriage ways etc.

Im happy to have some ride modes to play with for now.

I think it's looks great, has some great selling points, but a bit high for me.... I'd have to get the seat scooped a bit...

And according to my yam dealer and "The Dark Side" stand, the ECU has a different map from the standard mt09, as it's gonna be aimed a bit more for touring...

I'd certainly consider one a couple of years.... But I'm going to enjoy what I have for now...

looks a bit Montego. probably great as a TDM replacement but can't see it lighting my candle.

yeah I knew this mate hence that's why I have an MT lol.
This is a local toilet for local people. With MT09's.
There's nothing for you here. With your FZ8.

How's the new bike trips?
Should've got a Tracer mate :)

Can I have a few weeks in Lanzarote for Christmas this year please.

Centre stand eh, who would have thought that with all those lower fixing holes on the MT. Still going to get soaking wet off the rear end looking at the lack of a hugger.

no. according to the review quoted above:

The 130mm progressive link shock and 41mm upside-down forks have more preload and damping than the MT-09 according to Yamaha.

Thanks guys !!

As ya'll know i sold my MT for a KTM adventure because of 3 hour a day commuting. The Tracer ticks a lot of boxes!! If the suspension is better (and i don't get an 1190 Adventure or a Multistrada) i might just be back on an MT :)
