Yeah, I installed the bike axle skewers myself a few months ago. They have worked a treat.
I road some pretty bumpy dirt roads a few wees ago which shook quite a few things loose including some bits on me........but the screen stayed put and the skewer stayed on place. With the skewer the...
Just did the 40K service on mine (hubby did the valve clearances) and it needed 2 shims replacing, everything else was ok...just need to tighten the new chain a little.
$1000 for the service is a standard cost for this service...I nearly fell over...WOW.
Lucky I have a good mechanic (hubby)...
Hey Guys,
I haven't been able to find anything on where you would mount a Loobman Chain Oiling system to the Tracer.
Have any of you done this??
If so, where have you found to be the optimal mounting position for the reservoir??
Thanks in advance,
kimmie
p.s I have been using a Loobman for...
Oxford Grips are not standard on any bike that I know of, they are added by the owner after the fact (or sometimes the dealer if requested by the owner).
There have been a few changes in the controls of the Oxford grips, so bit hard to assist without seeing the controller. Some have just a red...
Have also fitted the lowering links and from info I found on the web, dropped the forks through 10mm. I don't run with a pillion but do carry luggage, so have set the preload on the rear @ 2 and changed the damping also.
Preload on the forks is normal and the damping is set to the soft side of...
Attached everything borrowed hubby's GIVI Trekker 52 top box for the pic (as I don't have top box for Dudley yet) and you have the finished result.
An "AIRHawk" on the seat and a Ventura Seat Bag for the pillion seat (which currently carries all my tools and wet gear) and Dudley...
Next, ah! Dudley came with a bonus.....the Yamaha top box rack already installed. Now I know all the literature says you can't (shouldn't) run a top box combined with the panniers but hey, they make the part, they just won't sell you the top box. After considerable research all the brackets are...
Rather than listing in everyone else threads for their mods, thought I'd post all the mods I've done to mine here on one place.
His name by the way is Dudley.......came about cos of his Shiny Red Uniform & Chisled Good Looks (if you are of the correct vintage you'll remember Dudley Do-Right of...

My young dad (78 years young, mind you....still thinks he's 18 sometimes..lol) rides a Honda CB500X. He's had a couple of serious off's in the last 4 years and the CB500X is at about his limit that he can handle these days (and...
Congrats Lew!!
Still 66 years young and getting about on two wheels- Way to GO!!!
My dad is 78 and is still riding (ok, maybe not as much as he used to) but he's still out there. I love it when we go out together (father/daughter rides), the expressions on peoples faces when we take our helmets...
Thanks Fulfilled.
Doing pretty good! Just need to get out riding some more.....lol
You originally from Oz?
Not this time unfortunately. As the bike was unregistered, I had to obtain a special permit to ride it back to NSW and the rules say "you must take the most optimal direct...
