Quick tyre question (Which to get?)

I use metzler m7rr and I've been massively happy with them, Fantastic millage and grip astronomically in the dry and very very well in the wet. But the profile is so so so good, the bike feels very naughty yet progressive and controlled at mid to high lean angles. Most report 5-7k miles out of a...

    Tyres

For outright grip it's no competition. Pirelli Rosso corsa.... Job done

    Extra BHP

A remap allows the bike to make use of more air in and more air out so no doubt the standard software will allow you to make small gains but a remap will have a slightly greater effect, an additional plus 10% if it's done very very well. It will help the bike feel better too by allowing it to...

    Bridgestone BT30

25% of three thousand is 750, I only got 2000 and something miles out of the s20, otherwise I liked them. I did consider a set of evo but even the tyre fitters say I shouldn't expect much more then 3000 miles from them as they square off significantly after 1500 miles. It's a real shame...

    Bridgestone BT30

Consider metzler m7rr they have a profile similar to pirelli Rosso corsa (best feeling tyre ever in my opinion just too expensive) and feel incredible especially at middle lean angles. Many reporting life of 7k and above. Must say I have never been so blown away by a tyre.after just 500 miles or...

Changing the CO settings in the DIAG menu

Also forgot to say, super unleaded or standard won't make much difference as the bike will adjust, the only choice you really get to make Is what detergents your putting into the tank with your fuel. Each have their preferences but I just buy from the busiest places as they don't have fuel sat...

Changing the CO settings in the DIAG menu

Hi guys I couldn't not reply to some of the minor in accuracy on this thread but I think It may clear somethings up. (as a background I strip and rebuild aircraft engines so I have a loose idea of how motorcycle engines work, although not perfect) 1) E10 is standard UK fuel, you can't smell...

You guys live down my neck of the woods then! Must go for a ride together sometime!

    Tyre trouble!

Maybe check tyre pressures more regularly too... I normally ruin tyres very quickly and have been very surprised that at 900 miles there is only a slight...slight squaring on the rear... Front looks great! I don't imagine they will do too much past 2k as most of my commute is motorway miles. I...

    MT-09 Lumpy engine.

Alternatively you can adjust the co2 sensors through diagnosis mode on the dash. Turn bike off hold both buttons on screen and turn key on. Wait 10 seconds and diagnostic mode opens. Toggle to co2 and change the first sensor to 5 or 6 and the second to 8 or 9. Yamaha set the co2 sensors to read...

Yamaha Demo Day, i Rode MT-09 and....

Just relax when you ride. Nice soft elbows help and so does a loose grip. To be fair I do think that the s20 are a slightly more nervous tyre then most past 70, but not tragically bad. The springs are very soft and bouncy but that's not a problem as it's cheap and easy to amend. A lot of your...

    Port & polish?

I know a few guys that had this done on street triples and they said that you should expect +5% increase in power at the most. Many report that the cylinders are as good as perfect but intake and outlets needed a bit of clearing up, having matches pistons and balanced crank gives better results...

This Tyre Wear Doesn't Look Normal !!

Ah all you kids are playing down my neck of the woods then? gloucester gives you unusual wear on tyres because of the pot hole dodging especially on the motorway. its to get that 3rd world road effect. I have S20 evo as OEM on my bike, yet some in the showroom had dunlops... how weird! seems...

    "Roughness" in gearbox.

;):D :D :D :D :D :D those? Ah I don't mean it in a crass or rude way. I work with aircraft and have come to know that the more you look for a problem that isn't there... the more illusive the simple solution becomes. Honda would love to be able to make something with character, who wants to...

    Bike before the MT09.....?

only way I could describe it! The MT09 is just filthy and excited compared to the all be it rather delicate STR. I never felt intimidated or overwhelmed with the STR, but in A mode and an open throttle on the MT09 I have.

    "Roughness" in gearbox.

I would agree that 'roughness' is often caused by air fuel mix. Although not because of some long and complicated Bol****s about getting Co2 in the oil... it literally could be anything but in almost every circumstance the most obvious answer is usually the right one. Check all engine bolts...

    Bike before the MT09.....?

The street is the tarted up sister that slaps on a load of make up before enjoying afternoon tea... The MT is the furiously wild child that will end up pregnant at 16. In fairness I would of considered the street again because it does have: better bite on the breaks, better standard...

    Hey

Hi all! What a great forum you have here! Just had my Street Triple R written off and have gleefully bought a spankin new MT09 ABS. After agonising over what to have next I found that the MT09 gave me more smiles then any other bike I had ridden so its won me over! Collecting on saturday and...
