6th gear noise

Hi is anyone experiencing a whinging noise in top gear between 100 to 118kms per hour?

It's normal. It's the cut of the gears. I've always had big loud vtwins so all these new noises scared me too. Try a different oil, or loud pipe.

I've noticed that too. But I think it's because of the speed you are in, 6th gear. If you go faster the sound goes away. It does it with the other gears too. If you are in an adequate speed for the gear you don't hear the whining.

I thought that might be the case, it's booked in for its first service tomorrow I'll mention it and see what they come back with

What did the dealer say about the noise?

They tell me that it is normal, mentioned they noted it with the factory. The noise did subside dramatically with the new oil.

It sounds to me like the cut of the gear, 3rd gear has a similar noise, listen to a classic mini with a straight cut gearbox ;-)
