And if anyone wants a pair of fork cartridges to do this mod, I've a pair available for £30.
I originally bought them to do this mod after seeing that video which said it's the best value mod for fixing the poor fork damping.
I wouldn't say it's a nightmare, it's possible that it will come off when it's on the stand but having had a go I thought I'd likely damage the finish or crack it trying to get it off so it was easier to just take it off before puting it on the stand.
When you come to drop your forks, remove the mudguard before putting it on the headstock stand.
And didn't the horn get in the way of the stand? - I've moved mine to under the l/h dummy intake.
Forget the rest, just sort the suspension, if I hadn't (ZX6RR shock, K-Tech revalve/resprung) I'd have sold it, in standard form I think it's dangerous if you want to do any more than ride it like a commuter.
Having sorted the suspension it's now quite good - Chinese adjustable stubby levers...

Tracer 900 rear shock (1000 miles) - £35 including UK mainland carriage.

Finally got to try out the K-Tech revalved forks and..............they're a noticeable improvement over standard to the point that......you don't notice them, it feels 'normal' instead of bouncing off bumps and ripples.
The guy at K-Tech said unless you're on the track he wouldn't bother with...
Anyone used BT016 Pro's? on anything not just MT09 - I'll be needing a new pair of tyres in 100 miles, I was thinking Metzeler Roadtec 01's but as a reference want to try out my K-Tech revalved forks with the OE Dunlops.
The BT016 Pro's are on offer at M&P for £120 a pair, that's difficault to...
I had this problem on my MT09......the day after I bought it (1700 miles and 15 months old)
I noticed a drop of coolant on one of the coolant hoses to the oil cooler.
Pulling the hose back a little on the oil cooler revealed a small crack in the stub pipe, fortunately all repaired under...
barton,
Thanks, my forks are in at K-Tech next week but for the SSK re-valve, springs and oil, I've also got a second rebound damper to go in which 'should' make it about as good as it's ever going to be without spending close to a grand on a full cartridge kit.
ZX6RR shock in the...
Spoke to K-Tech today, I think I'll go down the route of their re-valve, new springs and oil - they suggested that either they or a K-Tech service centre fit the new valves (that'll change the compression and rebound damping) so I'll drop the forks in with them in a couple of weeks - a little...
It's that time of year to get some modifications done and I'm think front forks (I have a ZX6RR rear shock fitted).
Has anyone fitted K-Tech's springs, valve kit and compression adjusters? did you do it yourself? if not, who fitted them? what oil and weight?
And what's your verdict on the...
kdimitris - there's no evidence of the reservoir valve coming in to contact with the inner face of the clutch housing/top half of crankcase.
I did have to remove some more material from the rim/lip/edge of the reservoir as there was evidence that that was coming in to contact with the clutch...
