Think you maybe right there Benchmark [you are correct i just went and checked] it does always start in the mode you left it in.Now what i dont understand is what the guys are doing when they get ECU flashed with Amode as the default mode??????

I trhink you mean putting A mode as the default so when you turn on ignition the bike always starts in A mode

I do it all the time (upshift only) Always have its a lot smoother and better if u carry a pillion.It wont harm the gearbox if u get it right

Update is I sold it. Cant fault the quality it fitted good and was nice looking but just far too loud for me even with baffle in (although others who have got them have went for the longer can and say its better}.So i sold it on and bought a used akrapovic.

Yeah thats why i got the chinese one.I pefer a short one as you get clean air but get blown about with the large ones
