Hi,
There's a big difference between the two bikes,
MT09 is raw agile and fun, likes to be accelerated hard and brake hard
XJS1300 Is more refined, likes to riden carefully and smooth, but its just has quick,.
Hope this answer your question.
Yep I am leaving the cowling off, as I think the only bike it looks good on, is the Kawasaki Eddie Lawson rep bike,
I love this bike , it's so much better than my old GSX1400,
But there is a couple of issue's,
The fuel tank size, wtf is that all about, 100 miles Max range?
Also as I like the...

Here a my new xjr 1300;
Feels just right, and its better than the gxs1400 on many levels , but the fuel tank is going to be a announce, 14 litres ? and it ages to get the last litre in...
I think Yamaha have that cover, by putting on a small fuel tank, so you have to fill every 100 miles, gives the old back, wrist and neck a chance to stretch,.
Still looking forward to the bike, but I know it's not as good as the old GSX1400, but it's different,.
The other half doesn't want go...
To cut a long story short,
Two years ago I traded in my old GSX1400 For the MT09, it's been good times, on the 09.
But I've been getting itchy feet of lately, need something bigger again,
Was looking for a FZ1, But there isn't any new ones, and at 11500 new, it's a lot money.
I was in the...
Tell me about it, the MT07 ok, but only ok, it always leaving me wanting more.
The fuel economy I'd not that good, 48mpg, when I was running the bike in, I was getting highs of 58 plus.
Started commuting on MT09 , To see if I need to upgrade to a FZ1.
still looking though
Sounds good,
Ive been doing alot of thinking adout the fz1,
But I would have to trade in my mt07, or the mt09, can't make that call, just yet.
So for now i am so bike envy.
Enjoy.
I traded in my fz8 for the mt09, as all the figures were right, weight horse power etc, but I do miss the fz8, going for the fz1 , great choice,
BTW I went the other way, my commuter bike is the mt07,
But don't believe all the hype, I am only getting a average of 48 mpg,
I total agreed, Enjoyed it for 5 minutes, but for my style and my type of riding I need a MT09, More fun,:o But if I do any long distance touring, I might think again.
A bit of a giggle at first, pulling up to the traffic lights, knowing that other bikers thinking, scooter boy!, I have him, well, just pin the throttle, and away you go, leaving them behind, for a 530cc it's ok.
The down side, I did get cold inside legs and a cold back, but, I did enjoy riding...
Hi all,
Right, the dealers has sorted my MT09, they replace the oil sensor and put in new oil, all on warranty.
The main thing is, I am so so glad I've got my bike back, I really miss it, having been out on a Tracer and using a loan bike, a T Max 530, the MT09 feels so right, can't fault...
Just a quick update,
Got new Tyres on Monday , a pair of Z8,
Oil light still coming on, but only when I am going above motorway speed, and it does go off, when I drop to around 30mph,
So I dropped the bike off at the dealer on Friday,,
Now just waiting for a new oil sensor .
Hopefully it...
I agreed with the above post,
I still haven't had mind done, and after testing the Tracer, I am glad I didn't, but ive have fitted kevxt o2 controller , which has sorted the bike nicely,.
cheers Kev
