Gear Downshift issues. Any ideas please !!!

Hey TheBo If you look at comments to my thread (especially from Triple Trouble regarding gears cut this way and an explanation from Misscrabsticks on technical section of this forum) you might find this useful. I have found that since having a new modified clutch cable fitted (original one...

    Tyre wear

Likewise, took the Dunlops off after 300 miles. They were terrible. I put on Michelin PR4's in August and have done 4500 miles on them and they are as good as new. Although I am not a crazy rider, got chicken strips of 1 inch or so, I ride 2 up on very bad roads here in Montenegro, lots of grit...

MT10! Want one? Course you do

When I first saw this picture, I thought the headlight design looked like 'bumblebee' of Transformers film (image attached). Not my cup of tea personally, but I guess I am getting an old f**t now and sound more and more like my Father.

Gear Downshift issues. Any ideas please !!!

In an emergency stop situation, which I have a lot of here in Montenegro on mountain roads !!! This is when I first discovered this gear issue, and I have subsequently replicated this in safer environments !!!

Gear Downshift issues. Any ideas please !!!

Thanks for all your replies. I did try to find answers on this forum before I posted (clearly I was unsuccessful). This is a first for me, although I have never had to do so many 'emergency stops' as I do here, and this is the first 'non european' bike I have ever owned. I really appreciate your...

Gear Downshift issues. Any ideas please !!!

Thank you for your comments. I assume this is a feature of the gearbox therefore !!! Strange really. I would just like to say that I first realised this in an emergency braking situation (which I have many of here in Montenegro). I can turn a corner in the mountain and there are rocks on the...

Gear Downshift issues. Any ideas please !!!

The gear indicator is one issue, but the physical inability to change gear is another (unless I rev and engage motion). I have never had this before on any other bike. Could it be possible that under hard braking that the clutch or gear shift loses position ? Thank you all for your help so far...

Gear Downshift issues. Any ideas please !!!

Shift lever is free to move and not tight. Bike works perfectly with effortless gear changes apart from when I brake hard to a standstill with clutch engaged from gear 4 upwards. It is a very strange phenomenon to me. I can only imagine that there must be something that happens to the...

Gear Downshift issues. Any ideas please !!!

Can anybody help me to understand my strange Gear Changes !!! Cut a long story short. Whenever I am in 4,5 or 6th Gear, and I brake hard (not downshifting, just pull in clutch) and come to a quick standstill, I cannot see on my display what Gear I am in, goes blank, and I cannot downshift at...

    Getting second thoughts now

I have averaged 4.6L / 100km and I ride with pillion on STD mode 90% of the time. I ride a lot up mountains and touring. I am by no means a hooligan rider, but we ride usually 50% minimum above the indicated speed limits. Some corners in the mountains are a 60kmh limit, we will usually be going...

    Getting second thoughts now

Apart from my Clutch cable breaking (it was replaced under warranty) I have nothing negative to say about the Tracer. It is a wonderfully balanced bike that rides confidently both very fast and slow speeds. I did change the stock tyres (I did not like them at all, hard, moderate grip and forever...

    Tyre Choice

I am on PR4's. Best tyres in my view for dry and wet combined. I ride 2 up mostly, and after 5000km very little wear on them, almost as new.
