    Equipement update

@Hex Givi bars arrived and fitted, will post some pics up later. Actual fit of the bars and feel of them very good but i got an extra spacer and was short a couple of washers in the bolts bag, there was also a couple of small chips in the paintwork that i touched in with some matt black. I...

    2017 MT-09 seat....too short

For 2 up riding a tracer > mt09. Got 12k touring miles on mine and i would say that 90% of that was with wifey aboard. It's the main reason i went for the tracer, she feels much better being on the back over the old gpz900r i had, she never quite felt the same about that bike after a winter run...

New MT-09 owner for the worst of reasons

Bad luck on the stolen bike. A word springs to mind that sounds very much like runts. VFR, outdated for sure but great bike, a clean low miler would make an excellent winter hack. The only thing i keep hearing about the mt10 is how much fuel it drinks.

    Modified Standard Exhaust System.

Nice job! Good call on getting a welder in, looks neat enough. My tig welding is poor at best as i only really use mine to mend broken post hole diggers and such. The guy i used to use for site fabrication work was shit hot, sadly dead now, but as he worked on oil rigs in his younger days seam...

    Problem with bar end mirrors

Real difficult with them not in front of me.... If you can separate the two parts of the stalk a thin plastic or nylon washer in between would give friction, i doubt electrickery tape would hold it and of course would look gash. Other than that if you can't see how to seperate the only thing...

    Off on another tour

nice one Lew, if you haven't seen these places already, when you head to baden baden nip up through luxembourg via esch-sur-sure, vianden and follow the border down through echternach, nice roads. the porta nigra at trier is worth a look too.

    Problem with bar end mirrors

Where exactly do they fold? The part where the mirror joins the stalk or do the two parts of that stalk rotate?

    new owner from brighton

Well i wouldn't worry about the cat, and if you think the akra is loud with the baffle in....try it without, it's a real teeth rattler. The cat sits in where the downpipes join onto the backbox and you wouldn't be able to tell if it's there or not unless you separate the system, i most...

    new owner from brighton

Dan, does the exhaust have the baffle fitted? i.e. can you see three small pipes coming out the end or is it just one big hole? It is pretty loud without. But with the cat and baffle fitted it's fully road legal. Not sure on the current official db limit as it's always been in my experience...

Congrats on the pass, you'd better get out of those 20mph zones if you want to have fun. I recommend a ride from one end of the a272 to the other, but watch out with that throttle there's usually a few police about on nice days. Rye harbour is also a popular meeting point but i wouldn't take...

    2017 Tracer co adjustment

I would imagine it's a result of the new euro4 regs, bikes have to have OBD1 (on board diagnostics) for technicians to fault find and monitor emissions. The next round of euro regs which i guess will be euro5 in 2020 will introduce OBD2 where the bike will self diagnose and self correct to...

    Equipement update

The Touratech ones, i've ordered the Givi's through fleabay from someone who's allegedly got them in stock...we'll see, i could stand for hours on my soapbox ranting about sellers that advertise and sell stuff they don't actually have themselves but just order in. At the moment i've got Evotech...

    Equipement update

Decided on the Givi bars in the end to replace my evotech bungs. Read some good reports on other forums about the level of protection they give. Still prefer the look of the touratech bars but it's a shame they seem to be getting more and more expensive and less and less focused on customer...

    Equipement update

How do you rate the Fehling bars? I've got my eye on the Touratech crash bars but i'm waiting to hear back what their ridiculous lead time will be.

Got the very same, plus the pillion seat. Big improvement over the stock seat which i found after about 4-5 hours of riding started getting a bit uncomfortable, The wife hasn't noticed any difference on the pillion though. Down to Cornwall last year and a recent trip to Germany...no pain or...

Nice mods. Question...are you off to Hogwarts with that trunk on the back? Looks massive, how many litres?

This from the Tutoro oiler website... "Avoid ... "EP" gearbox oils, Synthetic oils, Ester based oil, Polyglycol based oil, any oil containing additives such as Molybdenum Disulfide (Moly) or graphite." Bad for the plastic parts apparently.

    Scottoiler

Bought the Tutoro extended bracket and the stone chip shield. Much happier with Mk2 installation being further away from the pillion footrest. Nicely tucked in behind the pannier frame. Pipe routed through another handy cable tie point, just enough gap to slip a tie through where the...
