I have a custom one for sale, if you are anywhere near Leeds you can try it to see if it works for you. It cured the problem for me. I am only selling as I no longer have the MT,
Hello. It fits perfect as it is based on a genuine Yamaha seat. I have sold my bike now so won't be able to take a photo of it on the bike unfortunately. If you google "Seth Laam seats" you will see the website of the guy in California who did it. You have to send him your seat normally to work...
Here are some pictures of the seat:
Top of seat is a carbon weave effect and sides are smooth.
The seat was built up with denser foam at the edges for support and has a thin layer of softer foam on the surface stitched under the covering.
Top quality materials and workmanship all round.
When I first got my MT-09 I could only ride it for half an hour before my arse was in agony.
So I had a genuine Yamaha seat base re up holstered in USA by Seth Laam earlier this year. This cost me over £300 to get it to my door.
I am about to change bikes now so this is for sale for £200...
i had the same problem. i started using an Airhawk cushion and that sorted it but i didn't like the way it looked, so in the end i had a custom job done on my seat. i had this done by Seth Laam (find him on google). he spends quite a while asking you about what you find uncomfortable about the...
I have this in mine. The dealer tried to charge me £119 but when I pointed this out it was promptly reduced to £40 which was the price of the oil and filter. If it says it in the book, and hasn't been agreed othwerwise then I think you have a watertight case for a refund.
Check page 11 of your "Warranty Handbook". It says (at least mine does) "The first service will be carried out without labour charge....unless agreed otherwise".
If the handbook still says this and you didn't agree othwerwise at point of purchase then I think you have a cast iron case for...
Its down to the individuals choice whether they want a centre stand. I wouldn't have one myself but could see their uses, eg lubricating chain when touring. For those concerned with added weight, it will probably add less weight than ABS.
The max bhp and torque I think are the same across the various modes. The only difference is how far you have to twist to get them. Irrespective of what mode you are in, the bikes speed is controlled by your right hand.
No pictures of mine to hand at the moment but it is similar in appearance to this
My New Seth Laam Seat
but mine is probably a bit wider nearer the front and the "scoop" moved forward an inch or two (tailored to my height, weight, inseam etc after a chat with the Seth).
There is also the Sargent seat.
I think the only way to ensure you get comfort is to get one custom built for your height, weight, build etc.
Although I am UK based I had mine done in the US by Seth Laam.
The seat doesn't look like an armchair like a lot of custom seats do, but the seat is a...
