Chain Slack MT09

Noticed my chain looked slack on checking free play it was 50mm the handbook says it should be 5-15mm that chain has stretched some in 3000 miles has anyone else experienced this

not me. mine was one of the first, bought october 2013. Used all year round, now done over 10,000 miles, adjusted chain 2 or 3 times max. I wouldnt run a chain as tight as the manual says, 20-25mm mine is set at. 5-15 is way to tight, will wreck gearbox sprocket as well as chain at that setting

Yes I feel that the 5-15mm slack as said in handbook is too tight I'll set it as you suggest 20-25

I go 20 to 30, definitely ignore the handbook.

Mine must be about 25 or so this is the distance it moves when pushed down and up from where it rests, 15mm is way to low, im on about 1600 miles now and thanksfully my dealer did not adjust it at 600 miles service either. Been keeping an eye on swingarm to no marks on it.

Meant no marks on it lol whoops

The swinging arm should be ok with 20-30mm
