I have noticed that the engine temperature reading fluctuates quite a bit when riding..

Once the engine is hot, it could fluctuate between 67 - 88 degrees C depending on riding conditions. (movement or stationary..)

Is this normal..? or do I have a problem?

I am more use to Honda that stays above 79 degrees C once it has reached operating temperature.

I often get to 102ish in heavy traffic in the city

so what you are seeing is rather cool.

your readings are pretty much what I see, it's all over the place, I have other bikes and unlike cars where temp seems stable, all my bikes are all over the place.

It seems that the sensor for the clock is derived from the unregulated part of the cooling system.. since there should be a regulator around the cylinder heads that is more consistent don't you think?

Sounds normal, also like my bike. The coolant temperature varies with changes in the weather and engine load as it says in the owners manual
