So I'm guessing that the AU$240 I was quoted by my dealer is a rip off?????
This might be going in dealer shame thread...

Sounds like it. The first service is supposed to be free labour so you only pay for the consumables like oil, filter, etc...
Did they give you a receipt with a breakdown of the costs?
I know stuff in AU is generally more expensive than UK, but AU$240 sounds like they're having a laugh.

Yes, mine was $144.70.

I don't think our Aussie dealers are doing the free labour thing though...

That sounds reasonable for 1.5 hrs labour + parts
I should of got this thrown is @ sale time but too late now. live and learn.

Did they give you a receipt with a breakdown of the costs?
Not done yet but I will be showing them this thread..;)

The FREE labour was something Yamaha were offering, that has now finished so dealers are starting to charge.
Anything from £100 to £140 for 1.5 hrs labour with £35 being consumables like oil etc seems to be the norm.
If you look in your manual the mention of the free labour has been blanked out.
My bike is due in for it's first service this come Monday(18th). I am paying just for the consumables of £35
