Hello from Tasmania

Hi,

I'm very keen to buy a MT-09, but unfortunately they haven't arrived in Tasmania yet.

It was suppose to arrive at the end of January, but now it is somewhere in March.
But I think it will be later in the year, but still hoping to go for a test ride next month.

I'll keep you posted.

hop on the spirit and come over to melbourne go to yamaha city on elizabeth street, and you'll get a test ride on the day no worries at all. But just warning you as soon as you test ride you better have cash for a deposit.. i couldnt resist. Mine is 1 week old now, and loving it

I might do that when they don't arrive in March.

They have to order the one I want anyway, they are getting the orange and racing blue one.
I want the mat grey.

But for now I can only dream about the MT-09.

Welcome to the forum mtmarcel I just picked my matt grey MT09 up on Saturday, been for a great ride today. It took about a month to get mine the local dealer here in Adelaide said that they can only order a bike if you have a deposit on it as they won't get floor stock for another month. Keep us posted on how you go

I sent an email to Yamaha Australia last night.
This was the response I got.

Dear Marcel,



The orders for the MT09 have been overwhelming and we have not been able to keep up with the orders.

According to our sales areas they expect that by the end of February, we should have stock to supply to dealers (floor stock).

They are apparently pretty hard to get a hole of everywhere. Im in Perth, WA and must have been lucky - I went to a dealership on a Tuesday and bought it - it only arrived on the Saturday and they usually are either bought in advance or they sell within a week at most.

According to Yamaha Motors Australia 2 will arrive at the end of this month.
But according to the dealer here in Hobart it will be somewhere in March.

I don't want to buy one without seeing and test riding it.
I'm kind of tall 1.88m, so don't want it to look like a scooter when i'm on it.

I use to ride a Yamaha XJR1300 and now a Suzuki SV1000S.

i rode from busselton at 5 am 2-up on a gpx250 to albany haha, but it was worth riding the MT09 back through all the awesome forrest roads.

it was the matte grey.

such a long day riding. the seat was fine though.

hey marcel, im about 183 and the bike feels pretty low, but the pegs are low to so you're not too crunched up

im in uk. im 53 bin a while since i had a bike , and this bike is amazing. ive also put the akrapovic on it. it has the bike completly

I sent a email to Yamaha Australia again.

They are now saying end of April, but could be May.
But it's not only Austaralia (Tasmania) they say, they have world wide problems supplying stock to the dealers.
The demand is bigger than the supply......yeah right.

The only thing I can do is wait.....

I think I have to go to the main land to get one.

Finally there is a demo MT-09 available in Tassie......the only thing is I have to go to Lauceston.
Still none available in Hobart.

I think I have to take a day off from work and go up to Launceston for a test ride.

Finally i'm gonna test ride the MT-09 tomorrow.
Very exiting.

LOVED it.

Didn't order one yet, but I was close.......
Still have to sell my bike or wait a couple of weeks to save some more money.....

But this is definitely my next bike within a few months.
