Anyone lowered the rear yet (I'm a shortarse). There are some bits on fleabay for about £50, but having just got suspension working well (thanks to this forum and FB page) I'm a little loathe to meddle....(however I am on tiptoes with my New Rocks on, not that that has ever stopped me riding anything!)

If you want it to handle far worse then carry on........ A lower seat would be a better starting point.

or if you absolutely MUST, make sure you lower the front to compensate for the change in front rake (the angle the forks are at from vertical) by dropping the forks through the yokes.
to get it accurate use a spirit level and find a level point on the bike with stock settings, drop the back end, then lower the front until it's level again... if it's possible

I tried this on my Street Triple and couldn't drop the forks enough... good luck

I'm a shortarse too! I was going to bang on Lust's lowering kit £59, but after riding it for a while I modified my riding style and got over it... I did loosen the rear shock by 3 clicks, but soon increased to 2/3 clicks over standard.... If I was going to alter anything I think I'd get seat scooped, or change front/rear shocks etc, my local suspension specialist recommends the later.... Expected that at £750... That will have to wait!

Thanks guys, think I will probably continue without doing so given the views here, and possibly modify a seat in due course...

if you suffer with comfort issues the Seat Concepts seat is a little lower than stock. It could cure two ills at once for you.

Normal seat MadGelo, about 5'5" flydnb but my curse is short legs. Historically I've managed everything from an R1100RT to my CRF250 mainly courtesy of a pair of mad New Rock boots. However, it always involves a good degree of concentration getting on and off!

I think just get a reduced seat mate rather than lowering the bike .
Yeah.. I'm only 5'5"... (Slightly under actually), I've got used to it, but still contemplating scooping. There's a couple of places in west mids that can do it... A friend of mine has used one of them before and he's happy with them. Waiting for his details.
