Pannier Fell Off!!

I went out on my Tracer yesterday and when I stopped my right hand pannier was missing (Yamaha panniers, dealer fitted). I had checked that the panniers were secure before starting out so can only assume there was a problem with the locking mechanism.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Sounds like a Yamaha problem.....
My previous bike a Yamaha FJR1300 were known for the panniers falling off.
Cause were screws that would come undone and needed thread locktite.
