Hi guys,

Which company do you use for track day insurance?
I'll be coming over to Spain, in a couple of months, for three days on the track and am looking to get coverage from a decent health insurance.

I got one offer from the track-day organizer which covers as follows:

SCOPE OF COVER

Our accident insurance covers participation in free practice as well as races. You’re covered from the moment you arrive at the track until you ride off the premises. If you have an accident resulting in lasting physical damage (disability) there is a fixed insurance payout, depending on the severity of invalidity; the payout for total disability is €100,000. In case of death due to an accident there is a coverage of €10.000. So if you do have an accident, at least some of your financial worries are taken care of.

The excess (the portion of a claim not covered by the insurance) is 25%. So if the degree of disability is 25% or less, you receive no insurance payment. For 25% disability or more, you receive the full payment
Does that sound right? Up to 25% injury (aprox 25,000 euro) I'm not covered and have to pay out of my pocket. That sounds a bit dear to me...

Can you recommend any other insurance companies, which insure riders on track-days, and cover the costs from the first dollar (or at least close to it)?

No replies, really?

Surely you European folk take some kind of medical insurance when going out to track days, or does your regular dat-to-day insurance cover the race track too?

Its some years since I did a track day on my bike, and that was in the UK, but I dont believe many then had specialist insurance for their bike on track, or specialist insurance for themselves.
When I've done car track days in Europe, my car insurance can be uplifted to cover it on track (with a hefty excess)
I also then have travel insurance for myself, and I dont believe a car track day comes under the 'dangerous activities' that some policies exclude like skiing
