OK I've had the bike for 6 months now and decided she's a keeper.

With that in mind I have a few mods lined up over the next month.

First of all she is going to Bikepaints in Cupar for a makeover, I don't really like the matt silver finish (I know it subjective but I like shiney!) and the brief for them is to paint all the silver plastic bits a Metallic Race Blue to match the wheels and forks, along with a couple of yellow flashed along the side, just small ones.

Then when I get her back, the hugger will be replaced with a Carbon & Blue Mesh Hugger, similar front mudguard and chain guard.

Also got the Stronger EBC Clutch Springs to fit once thats done.

I have always personalised my bikes when I'm sure I'm keeping them so I'm hoping when thats all done in about a month or so.

Once its all done piccys will follow,

:D

Sounds good and look forward to seeing the pictures! I know I am in danger of becoming a zealot over this but the best customization you can do can't be seen! Yep, have the ECU flashed it makes one shell of a difference ?

My MT-09 is in what I like to think of as John Major grey - Y-fronts over tights, and all that. I like to keep a low profile.

After dropping the bike off today and discussing with the guy who's gonna paint it, decided to leave the yellow stripes off and just get a metal flake finish on all the silver bits and the new side tank pads (with TRACER on them) would look better and not too clingy !

Also meant to say the Ixil exhaust is proving to be a much better sound !!

I know what you're saying about the Flash but up in the North East of Scotland its not easy to find someone to do it !!

Pop your tank off, remove your ECU and post it off to Simon at S-Tec in Berkshire (Flash Tune specialist). He knows his stuff and your Tracer will thank you for it.

Rode back 120 miles from Bike Paints yesterday in torrential rain and howling gale so looking like it needs a good wash now !

Just got to add the Carbon bits and engine bars over the weekend then she should be good to go !

Paint job all done, carbon front mudguard, hugger and chain guard all fitted as well as tank protectors and MRA screen, already fitted the levers and now all I need to do next week is fit the engine bars (currently being plastic coated) and the stronger clutch springs.
Really need to give her a good scrub tomorrow now !!

Last of the new photos, now with the powder coated engine bars on and the uprated clutch springs, although you obviously can't see them !
Pity the sun wasn't out to see the metal flake in the paint on the bike and the bars, never mind.

It never fails to amaze me some of the things I'm finding on this bike the longer I have it.
First of all (and I know some don't agree) but both me and this missus think the seat is one of the best we've had on a stock bike, and we've had a lot in my 46 years of riding. This will be the first one I've not had to get a re-sculptered seat for.
Now I have realised the lights are probably better than most bikes I've had, except for the HID in the Blackbird, I founds these as good as I need and I've been riding in shitey Aberdeenshire back roads. Probably because its the first bike I've had with LED lights. I had put the Givi Engine Bars on to take a could of Spots I had in the garage, but don't think I need them !
I know some have issues on both fronts but I'm a happy camper !!

Totally agree, amazing bike and the more you ride it the better it gets! Also agree about the seat it does break in after a couple of thousand miles, did an all day 400 mile day in the Pyrenees in September and could still walk when I got off which is more than I can say about most bikes I have had.

I have added radiator guard, crash bars, changed the screen, had the ecu flashed and added a beak! Beak not really needed just think it looks good and finishes the bike nicely.
