Seat MOD on my MT09 Tracer 2015

I've got a Sargent seat but unfortunately no Tracer any more if anyone's interested?

    2 up riding

I just turn up the rear preload to maximum and leave the front alone for wife and panniers, including the non recommended top box. ( I know, naughty!) Not perfect, for that you'd need a heavier spring but good enough for us for foreign trips of 3000 miles and more these last 5 years.;)

MT-09 Tracer 15-17 Givi panniers and bags

Thanks for clearing that up. My wife thinks our panniers are already a bit small even though we've just got back from nearly three weeks in Spain! Yes, I had a demo ride on the new GT, it's very tempting, the suspension in particular was very impressive.

MT-09 Tracer 15-17 Givi panniers and bags

Hi Tim, that's a good price. This is the setup I'm using on my 2017 Tracer which is a really good narrow fix. I am also looking to trade up to the later GT and was hoping the pannier rails would fit the later bike, obviously the pillion rests are in a different place but do the frames line up...

    Undulating drive

Don't over tighten it. Set at tightest point.

    Chain Lube

Wurth dry lube for me. 12000 miles and the only adjustment I've made is to slacken the chain off after dealer tightened to the book which is too tight for my liking!

    Plastic front and side grills

Good idea, usually full of flies! Maybe a clear perspex piece could be glued in place? Might have a look tomorrow. In the middle of a comprehensive winter service and I keep adding jobs. Already stripped all the rear suspension linkage and removed the swinging arm to grease the bearings. Nearly...

    Plastic front and side grills

No but I've just used some black silicon sealant from behind to stop mine rattling:unsure:

Hi all. Just bought a small AA 12v compressor to take touring .

Thanks for your reply . Just as I thought. In the end I just soldered some crocodile clips to the leads. My touring holiday is now just a memory and, of course, because I was carrying a pump I had no problem with punctures!:sneaky:

Hi all. Just bought a small AA 12v compressor to take touring .

It only draws 4A but I'm inclined to agree with you. Some crocodile clips coming up, I think. It's no big deal lifting the seat to access the battery in the unlikely event I will even need to use it!

Hi all. Just bought a small AA 12v compressor to take touring .

Plugged into the cigar lighter socket and popped the fuse! When I eventually located the fuse box ( under the right side panel by the radiator) I was surprised it's only rated at 2 amps. What good is that? The compressor draws only 4A. Surely the circuit can handle a 5A fuse? Has anyone tried...

    Givi touring screen

Mine's a 2017 and I've had the screen on for 18 months now. It really quietens the ride. The screen bolts have never come loose but the screen height adjuster screw keeps vibrating loose on the left side. I never need to raise or lower the screen so a drop of loctite on the thread does it for me.
