    Yamaha my-09 for commuting?

Just make sure the engines getting nice and warm on cold days, mines done 12000 miles commuting and stopped running. Turns out every breather pipe on the bike was clogged with crap. Yamaha service didn't notice anything.thank god for Si at S-tec

    oxford heated grips

Hi Casey, any if the 3 more expensive grips will be fine. It's just the grip pattern that changes. The sports are the grippiest. As for the control unit I gave the guys at R&g a call and bought one if their heated grip bar mounts. It's only a few £ and is a much cleaner set up for these bars...

    Yamaha Heated Grips Question

Thanks Unfazed, I think the Tracer grips are different than the generic Yamaha grip heaters the mt09 gets. Tracer seems to have a lovely light throttle pull too, heavy spring on the MT makes grippy grips essential for me.

    Yamaha Heated Grips Question

Has anyone fitted the OEM grip heaters to the standard MT09? I like the integrated switch thingy but was wondering how much thicker they are and how grippy the rubber is? Thanks all

I'm getting Street Triple R itches again...

I've had two STR's (2010,2013) and am now on a 2015 MT. The STR feels more refined and better finished. Basically the stuff that annoys me about the MT was not an issue on the STR ie: injection, suspension, seat. BUT the MT is more nimble at road speeds, accelerates harder and just...

    grab rail

I use the Rentec rail, it works really well and you get used to the looks. It's about £70. I have seen a French company called s2 concept making side handles but very expensive and look abit form over function. I have the Yamaha rack but my pillion lady reckons the handles are imaginary!

    Sargent Seat, anyone got one?

I had a Sargent for my MT. Brilliant build quality and my girl loved the back but for me it felt too "supportive". As in rock solid. But then I am a 10st hobbit.

MT09 center stand from the Tracer?

Lot of hate for the centre stand idea here! I looked into it myself as the detriment to performance is negligible and they are so handy. I reckon a Tracer part should fit but it might be cheaper to look at SW Motech

Snatch is cured ! DNA Air filter

Just got my DNA filter and changed my co setting to 20 as per afew vids I've seen. I would have never believed it but that initial throttle snatch really is mostly gone! Dunno which bit caused it or both but it's a lot better. Thanks for the recommendation mate!

    Heavy throttle spring

I'm cable tying the throttle open every night to wear the spring. After a few weeks it seems a tad lighter. Definitely compared to show room bikes

    Heavy throttle spring

I like a good bodge! Where is the spring? Easy to get at?

    Heavy throttle spring

Has anyone else noticed that the MT09 throttle is quite a heavy pull? This is separate to the snatch (which doesn't bother me) but I find I'm gripping the throttle quite hard which gets annoying. I've fitted stickier grips but wondered if it will ease up with more miles? It's done 2000 so far...

    Maxton Suspension assessment

Thanks for the move. Has anyone removed the rear shock? It looks very enclosed. How easy is it to replace?

    Maxton Suspension assessment

Hi guys, I just had a reply back from Maxton Suspension after asking them what they could do to improve the MT09 ( copied below ). Its an expensive option but i have used them before, the results are outstanding. Has anyone used them for the MT already or found a cheaper option? I think i've...

    Hi from the new guy

Hi everyone, I got my MT09 about 2 weeks ago and i'm trying to burn through those 600 miles as quick as possible so i can let it off the leash! So far i'm loving it, its great to be on a bike designed from the ground up as a road bike rather than a race bike with high bars. A little about me...
