    Swingarm marks

Will check that out, never tried that one.

    Swingarm marks

Now I know that marks on the swing arm for chain adjustment are never exactly right, but generally they are not bad as a guide. I reckon that the Tracer however is horrendous. Add to this that the centre stand gets in the way of doing a traditional string line, there central frame pivot hasn't...

    Groetjes uit Nederland

Hello Dism, Groete uit Engeland uit. Welcome and enjoy the Tracer when you get it, it really is an outstanding machine.

Great bike but the seat is doing my head in!

The comfort seat takes a load of miles to break in, but is a big improvement (for us heavier blokes) in the end - I think so at least.

    Akra question

Mine hasn't hit the ground yet and I am 105 KG. I also take the missus on the back so nearly 160KG and no bottoming out

    Fuel level indicator

On my Tracer I get around 100 miles before the first bar goes, from there until the last bar is flashing and the reserve trip comes on is around 50 miles. Most I have gone is around 165 miles and it took just shy of £20 (BP Ultimate) to fill up.

    Tracer C0 Adjustment Guide

Thanks Juvecu - some of us less experienced people around here didn't know about this, very useful information (dunno if i am brave enough to play with it though :-) ).

Few Questions before I buy a new Tracer

TT - what are the effect of the restrictions in 5th and 6th? Can't say I have really noticed any issues, but then again I am not a top speed merchant.

    Comfort seat

Did 2 longish rides today, the comfort seat is definitely more comfortable then std. It is getting better as it is "breaking in".

    Comfort seat

Ordered a comfort seat set for the Tracer, received it last night and stuck them on. First impressions are that the seat is a lot firmer. I previously had my standard seat on the higher of the two settings, but with the comfort seat it felt like I was sitting on a hard cushion on my standard...

    The First 300 miles

What are you referring to in point 3? My throttle felt fine, though there was a lot of slack between rest position and acceleration, so I took the slack out on the cable (adjuster on the cable a few inches after the place where it comes out the switchgear) -feels fine now.

    Panniers

My Shad 36's and 3p brackets have arrived and are on - I am very happy. Good solid construction, easy to fit and look good for panniers, Only gripe is they are very tight putting in and taking off ( probably a good thing in the long run).

GIVI quick lock tank bag - Safety warning

I bought a GIVI quick lock tank bag for the Tracer last week and installed it (I think the tank fitting kit is BF 23). Used it with no load and it was OK, but a couple of days ago I used it loaded and it came off while riding. Did some pushing and pulling and it didn't stay. I took it back to...

A tad less responsive after first 1000km oil change..

I feel that most of the bikes I have had have felt a little sluggish after being serviced - not sure if it psychosomatic or the fact that the oil is new (maybe a viscosity thing - any oil techs in the house?)

    the first tracers meeting

One group insults another group (even though there is not much to distinguish between them), somebody then says "hey that's not nice" and the moderator (appears to ) wait to see which way the argument sways before piling with "yeah, I agree that its only banter, if you don't like it fuck off...

    the first tracers meeting

Yes I do. Your comments (in general, not just this one) regarding Tracer owners are childish, unnecessary and only serve to inflame. Not much worse the a keyboard warrior.

    Panniers

Cheers Martin, after I started this thread I did a lot of looking around and ended up ordering some Shad's. Coming back and seeing your comments was very pleasing as I was worried that I had spent a lot of money on something that I knew nothing about.
