I was on a three day trip to complete the Irish Photo Rally a few weeks ago and one of my OEM panniers jumped ship after I'd hit a huge pothole.
It was totally destroyed.
I've never been ever-so-happy with the OEM stuff. They look pretty but they're not very water resistant and I find the OEM...
I've just gone through the lowering exercise. Dropped front and rear by 18mm.
I can now totally 'flat-foot' with an ever-so-slight bend in the knee.
I'm getting on a bit now.....73 in a few weeks time and I feel a bit more at ease these days with a good firm footing.
The side stand was fine...
I have a DIY solution. Cost me £14 on Ebay for 2 pieces of smoke grey polycarbonate sheet.
The seller cut it to the size and shape I wanted free of charge. It bends and retains its shape easily. Very strong!
It's made a world of difference. Much, much warmer and drier.
I live in a very quiet rural area. It'd be easy for me to take the Tracer out just for a spin but, for the reasons stated above, I dont.
But, I do own 6 acres of field which surrounds my house.
I took my KLR 650 onto the lower part of the field a few days ago to give it a try-out on grass.
I...
What's wrong with yours? I created my own problem back in 2016 when I bought my Tracer.
I noticed a small leak coming out of one connecting tube.
I put a new jubilee clip on the the rubber hose and tightened.
The leak didn't go.
Tightened more and the leak got worse.
Took the clip and hose off...
Not at all.
It does add a few inches to the cable but nothing that cant be easily accommodated with a little re-routeing.
Well worth it for me with reduced capability in my wrist strength and movement.
It's a well engineered piece of kit.
Yes, the short option.
There's video on the fitting of the things but it's really pretty easy if you're half way mechanically minded.
It is a bit fiddly and you obviously end up with a few inches more of cable.
Worth it though.
If you open that link and contact the Indian folks you'll find 'em...
I thought about the R1 thing option. When I looked into it, it seemed the effort reduction would be around 10% + -.
I was looking for a bit more.
Falling off a five foot retaining wall which resulted in this.....
I'm getting on a bit in years and don't heal quite like I used too so, this has...
Here's a link.
The costs are on there in Indian Rupees and they give you the exact exchange rate.
They accept PayPal and I paid €43,50 which included postage.
I ordered on a Monday and it arrived on Thursday of the following week. (8 working days) (Rural Ireland)
I was really suffering with my...
When I first bought my Tracer I found the clutch a little on the heavy side but, nothing I couldn't live with.
Until.....June 2019, one week before I was set to head off to Austria with some mates....I fell off a wall and busted my left wrist up good and proper.
Half a year later my wrist's not...
Hi,
I've just looked at the Fehling products for the MT-09 and to be honest, they look as if they'd be better than the protectors I've fitted.
I've had a slow speed topple from my bike and the sliders that I fitted took a bit of a hit but stopped any damage to the bike's bodywork except for a...
I have a set of OEM Yamaha luggage. It's that semi-hard case option that look nice but is next to useless for me.
Does anyone know if there's any of those aluminium square box type options that'll fit on the Yamaha OEM brackets?
BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL if you have a leak from the small hoses that connect to the oil cooler.
I noticed a small leak one morning from one of these connections.
I did the obvious first and just tried a slight tighten of the clip
No joy.
I drained the system and took the hoses off and cleaned the...
It's brilliant. I was tipped off about this a year or two ago and have used nothing else since.
Here's what it did for me. Also worked fantastic on my headers but cant find the video.

I've replaced the Monkey-Metal OEM chain adjusting blocks on my Tracer.
Much easier to use!
