Due to lack of use since getting with my girlfriend and a new love of push bikes I would like my bike to go to a good home that can give it some use.
I'll add some photos tomorrow but the bike is as new and has the very nice Akrapovic exhaust, the full fat Yamaha one. I have the original that...
I can't tell people enough to try this if you find the bike jerky. It absolutely transforms the bike and makes roundabouts at slow speeds much more relaxed and less changes of underwear!
Guys if you haven't tried changing the C02 mixture for each cylinder to 14 then I urge you to do so it really transforms the bike and takes less than five minutes to do! 14 might not be right if on a stock exhaust but just play with it up to that and it cuts out all the jerkiness :)
I prefer the look of the official Akra and the price is fair for a full system compared to other bikes I've seen.
They have the exhaust in stock but got it booked in for the 7th of April to do it in tandem with first service, I am very excited!
I went into Raceways of Fleetwood today to book in the bike for it's first service and Steve says to be just have a listen to the demo out there with the Akra on it.........
So now I'm £900 lighter and gonna have a grin a mile wide every morning (sorry neighbors your new wake up call will be...
Raceways in Fleetwood
Top class Yamaha dealership, ever friendly but more importantly totally open and honest. Steve the owner is just a pleasant down to earth guy who loves bikes and understands his customers.
I have to say I bought a bike from Clay Cross and they are without doubt the shoddiest dealership I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with!
I usually use Raceways in fleetwood but they had a particular bike I wanted at the time.... never again! Stick with good dealers and they don't get any...
With the comfort seat option and a decent screen I can imagine the MT-09 would be a comfy cruiser but it's limited tank range might spoil the fun.
That being said the MT would be much nicer on the twisties due to the light weight and torque.
But to me, having sat on the Z and MT, what ruled...
Two Bros don't do anything but virtually straight through pipes, they sell gold DB killers but they just take the edge off.
My B-King was almost 107 DB when car dealership I know tested, had ap app on my phone and it couldn't cope with it haha! Old people used to cower down as if an air raid...
I totally agree, the best thing to do is just ride the bike as normal to run it in, don't have any extremes of too slow and too fast. When running in I go to 4th at 33 and so on just a little bit more. But I have always found it make a huge difference for fuel consumption. I'd never for example...
Bit late to this thread but I watched the YouTube video and I can't help think you stay in too low a gear all the time? You were going for quite a while at 40-45 in 3rd! You could easily be in 5th by that point really, the idea of the triple is to have bags of torque. On most bikes I've owned...
I absolutely loved my Two Brothers pipes on my B-King, the only downside was that people 18 miles away still had to use it as an alarm clock at 7 am :-D
Well I picked up my lovely Deep Armour (fastest colour) MT-09 on tuesday and have to say I've fallen for it with just 20 miles on the clock.
I'm 16 stone so I don't fit on a speed triple and the Yamaha is just so much nicer put together.
